Teresa Elizabeth (Wheeler) Adams, age 61 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away from this life at her home on Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Rev. Bill Chesser, Pastor of Cornerstone Tabernacle Church of Sasakwa, Oklahoma will officiate. Pallbearers are her sons-in-law, Ritch Gunter, Chip Melton, Robert Fluitt, and Shawn O’Dell. Teresa was born on June 30, 1949, in Konawa to Verna Lee (Algood) and James LeRoy Wheeler. She graduated from Konawa High School, and she married her husband of forty-two years, Jimmy Earl Adams, on June 7, 1968, at the First Baptist Church in Konawa. Teresa was a homemaker who loved to bake and to sew, and she was also a member of the Cornerstone Tabernacle Church of Sasakwa. She was the Manager of a General Dollar Store from 1990 until 1996. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Earl Adams of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Tanya and Ritch Gunter of Wewoka, Norma and Chip Melton of Konawa, Jimmie and Robert Fluitt of Tecumseh, and Tina and Shawn O’Dell of Konawa; two sisters and brothers-in-law, JoAnn and Ted Lucas of Tecumseh, and Geneva and Burl Davis of Tribbey, Oklahoma; and nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
