Seminole resident, Teddy Kay Knizek, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, in Shawnee. 

Teddy, the daughter of Teddy and Edith (Hale) Bruce, was born November 22, 1945, in Seminole. She attended Seminole Schools. On November 30, 1963, Teddy married Harold Knizek, in Seminole. Teddy worked for many years at KFC in Seminole. She was very active, enjoying bowling and quilting, fishing, playing card games especially Crazy Bee, and cooking, but nothing was as dear to Teddy as time spent with her family. Over the years Teddy and Harold belonged to several different bowling leagues. Teddy loved big and was the glue of her family. She was each family members biggest supporter, and she was the toughest but most gently hearted woman. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Betty Phillips, Noxie Maxine, and Vickie Maloney. 

Teddy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harold Knizek, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Tammy Knizek, of Seminole; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and John Lemmings, of Seminole; grandchildren, Justin and Shianne Lane, Johnny and Lindsay Lane, and Hope Latham; great grandchildren, Bentley, Bristol, Beckhem, Berkeley, Bodhi, Travis, Ronnie, and Lilly; brothers and sister-in-law, Barry Bruce, of Oklahoma City, and Teddy Jr., and Kay Bruce, of Shawnee; sisters and brother-in-law, Connie and Bob Gaines, of Henrietta, and Tessie Robertson, of Seminole; along with many other family members and friends. 

Casket bearers will be Justin Lane, Johnny Lane, Bentley Lane, Andy Robinson, Todd Smith, and Travis Griffin.

Services will be Friday, September 6, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, with interment to follow at Little Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
