Tammy Louise Harjo, age 53 and a former resident of Seminole county, passed away at Norman Regional Hospital Thursday, November 12, 2015. A Wake service is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 15th at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel Monday, November 16th. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Pallbearers are Carl Lee Harjo, Jim Gibson, Jonathan Walker, Leo Alexander, Ronald Gipson, Brandon Harjo, and Darrell Chisholm. Honorary Pallbearers are James Harjo, Winfred Harjo, Johnnie Harjo, John D. Harjo, Lester Gipson, and Adam Harjo. Tammy was born January 11, 1962 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Almond James Harjo and Joanna (Wolf) Harjo. She married Jeffery Harjo, and she worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant for Ada Care Center and for Jan Frances Care Center of Ada. Tammy enjoyed being around her pet dogs. She is survived by one son, Adam Harjo of Ada, Oklahoma; one daughter, Kimberly Harjo of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; two brothers, James Harjo of Tonkawa, Oklahoma and Jeremy Harjo of Ada, Oklahoma; two sisters, Jimmie Harjo of Tonkawa, Oklahoma and Juanita Gipson of Sasakwa, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; and a special friend, Anthony Gibson of the home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Almond and Joanna Harjo; husband, Jeffrey Harjo; two brothers, Richy and Sambo Harjo; two sisters, Charlotte and Elizabeth Harjo; and two nieces, Tisha Harjo Gibson and Beth Ann Harjo.
