Tamara Regene Stephens passed away on Friday, December 22nd at the age of 57. She left peacefully surrounded by her husband, sons, and sister.
Tammy was born on December 31, 1965, to Janet and Gene Lasley. She was the oldest of 3 siblings, who she shared a close bond with growing up. Her family moved a few times growing up and she had the opportunity to live in several great places, New Mexico being one of them.
Tammy graduated from Shawnee High School in 1983 and from there she started her journey in the field of social work. She attended the University of Oklahoma where she majored in Sociology with an emphasis on psychology and social work. Tammy had a love and passion for helping others and has touched many lives during her career. They say that if you find a job that you love, you will never have to work a day in your life and that is exactly how she felt.
Music was another passion of Tammy’s and played a huge part in her life. She was a gifted musician and was often associated with her violin. In school, she always played her violin in the orchestra. During high school she performed in the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra. She took great pride in this because only certain individuals who auditioned had the honor and opportunity to be a part of this prestigious youth orchestra. Tammy always made time for her music and even offered singing and violin lessons. She took every chance that she could to share her love of music with others.
Tammy had the opportunity to perform her music in Branson Missouri and met several renowned musicians during her life. One of her favorite instances was when she met singer and musician, Charlie Daniels. He was so taken by her charming personality and dedication to music that he did something which he never did, and that was autograph her prized violin.
Out of all her adventures and achievements, nothing made Tammy more proud or happier than being a wife and mother. Tammy loved the idea of sharing her life and love with that special someone, and she found that in her Husband and Soulmate Johnny Stephens. The two of them were finally united in Marriage on April 15, 2017.
Tammy was greeted into heaven by her parents, Gene & Janet Lasley; son, Phillipp, and niece, Andrea.
