Susie (Ahaisse) Jones , age 84 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at her home in Konawa, Oklahoma.
A Wake service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22nd at Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Funeral services for Susie (Ahaisse) Jones are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 23rd at the Pentecostal Church of God Indian Mission located at 322 W. North Street in Konawa. Beverly Altizer will officiate, and burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery. Casket bearers are Jonathan Walker, Gabriel Walker, Vincent Walker, Joshua Melton, Eli Melton, Peyton Hunter, Chico Porras, and Travis Hunter. Honorary bearers are Leo “Crane” Alexander, Jr., Tony Melton, Johnnie Harjo, James Harjo, Ronald Gipson, and Josh Pranzetti.
Susie was born April 7, 1937 in Seminole, Oklahoma to John Ahaisse and Eliza Wolf. She graduated from Durant High School while at Oklahoma Presbyterian College in Durant. She married George Lee Jones in Seminole, Oklahoma. Susie worked as a cook for the Seminole Headstart Program. She also worked as a seamstress for many years at Michael’s Casuals, and as an assistant at the Konawa school system until the job phased out. Susie was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God Indian Mission of Konawa. She loved gardening, planting flowers, and fishing, and attending church. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, and watching her grandchildren play sports.
She is survived by one son, Stephen Harrison of Konawa; two daughters, Johnna Grant of Konawa, and Robyn Melton and husband, Tony of Carnegie, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Charity, Kesha, Chenee, Priscilla, Joshua, and Eli; fifteen great grandchildren, Mariah, Gabe, Vinnie, Deyton, Chesape, Ariana, Ezekiel, Josiah, Trey, Zaccheus, Jordyn, Aleya, Aryn, Rya, and Shane; two great-great grandchildren, Bryson and Julian; and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband, George Lee Jones on February 14, 1981; one son, Vincent Neil Harrison; two sisters, Joanna Harjo and Sally Wolf; and two brothers, Raymond Wolf and Johnson Wolf.
