Susie Edgell

Susie Esther (Griffith) Edgell, 71 year-old, longtime Seminole resident passed from this life on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Integris Seminole Medical Center.  She was born October 26, 1938 in Lamar, Arkansas to parents Theodore George Griffith and Alice Beatrice (Ellsworth) Griffith. Susie married Daryl Wayne Edgell on June 27, 1959 in Seminole, Oklahoma.  The couple returned to Seminole in 1976 from Casper, Wyoming.  Susie was a member of the Seminole First Church of God, now, Heartland Family Church. Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Marcus Theodore “Mark” Edgell and his wife Debbie, Walter Wayne Edgell and his wife Annette, Bobby Ray Edgell and his wife Diane and Jerry Jackson Edgell all of Seminole, Oklahoma and Kenneth Lee “Ken” Edgell and his wife Tara of Illinois; one daughter, Joann (Edgell) Wheat of Seminole, Oklahoma; one brother, Robert Griffith of Seminole, Oklahoma; one sister, Elva Edgell of Seminole, Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends. Susie is preceded in death by her husband, Daryl Wayne Edgell who died May 14, 1996; one daughter, Gennell (Edgell) Bryant in 2002; one sister, Hazel Holland in 2002; and one great-granddaughter, Shalinda Bloom in 2002. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 23, 2010 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma with Tom Newell officiating the service assisted by Ken Edgell.  Interment will follow at Little Cemetery north of Seminole.
