Summer Dawn Underwood “MESKE”  Summer Dawn Underwood, 42, Seminole resident, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Monday May 2, 2016 in Seminole, Oklahoma. “She is now absent from the body and present with the Lord”.  Meske was born June 16, 1974 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Ramona Ponkilla and Ted Underwood. She is Mikasuki and Sweet potato, her traditional ground was Cheyahv.  She grew up in Little community and graduated from Strother High School, in Northern Seminole county. Meske was a homemaker and also worked with her mate Anthony Conley.  She and Anthony were sports enthusiasts and OKC Thunder fans.  She loved being with her immediate family and her extended family and friends.  She loved old school music, took loving care of Boss and Lela her beloved dogs. Summer lived in Oklahoma City for a number of years and decided she wanted to come back to her home community where she was loved and missed.  She began attending the Lord’s Community Church where she found a peaceful place to hear about “God’s Grace” and worship with many other children of God.  She loved her children and wanted to be a lasting part of their lives and often visited with her grandmother Marie. Summer is survived by her mate Anthony Conley of Seminole, Oklahoma her daughter Kyla Forshee, Oklahoma City; her son Jacob Underwood, Oklahoma City; her mother Ramona Ponkilla, Oklahoma City; grandmother Marie Ponkilla, Seminole; her father Ted Underwood, step-mother Lisa Underwood, Seminole; her brothers John Underwood and his wife Ginny Underwood of Yukon, Ok and Jose Samerano; by one sister, Alicia Samerano, she is also survived by seven nieces, by one nephew, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. The body will be taken to the Lord’s Community Church in Seminole, Oklahoma on Thursday morning, May 5th, 2016 for a wake service that evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Lord’s Community Church in Seminole, Ok at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 6th 2016.  The Rev. Juanita Moreland and Rev. CD Loftis will be officiating the services.  Burial will follow at the Underwood family cemetery and will be officiated by retired Reverends Mildred Harjo and Abraham Jackson. Casket bearers will be; Stephen Ponkilla, Ahalok Harjo, William Pipestem, Thunder Lena, Honece Pipestem, Cha-chio Pipestem.  Honorary bearers; Robert Ponkilla, Micheal Paul Wolf, Anthony Tiger.
