Steven Dewayne Sims, age 61 and lifelong Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away July 22, 2020. He was born January 26, 1959 in Seminole to parents Charles Roy-Lee Sims and Patsy Ruth (Brewer) Sims-Ervin. He was a high school graduate and attended college for 3 years.
Steve had a love for cars since he was a young child. As a teen, Steve built model cars to the finest detail. He loved the intricate details of assembling the cars and was very good at it; a natural. As an adult, Steve’s talent was carried out in his own very busy and successful business and body shop, S1 Auto Services in Seminole.
Steve is survived by his wife Cathy Lynn (Tate) Sims, who he married on June 3, 2017, his father; Charles Sims, his daughters; Tricia Ethridge and husband John and Stephanie Taylor and her husband Zack, Lynsie Stay and her husband Brian and Kaylee Swett and her husband Jeremiah, his sisters; Connie Tapp and Charlot Rice of Shawnee, Oklahoma and grandchildren; Carson, Madison, Allie Luke and Brianna. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Sims who passed away July 13, 2016, his mother Patsy and his nephew Steven Jerid.
A Celebration of Life for Steve will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 27, 2020 at Immanuel Fellowship Church in Seminole, Oklahoma with his brother-in-law Tim Tate officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Jacob Dickson, Dalton Tapp, Michael Haskins, Brian Stay, Jeremiah Swett and Jacob Myers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
