Steven Wesley Burris

Steven Wesley “Bub” Burris, age 38 and a resident of Ada, Oklahoma, entered into his eternal heavenly home on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, Oklahoma.  Rev. Brandon Leslie, Pastor of St. Lewis Baptist Church, will officiate. Bub was born July 4, 1979 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Calvin Wesley Burris and Cynthia “Cindy” Renee (Mayfield) Burris.  He graduated from Konawa High School in 1998. He was #44 on the Konawa football team.  He made “All District” and “All Conference” in football, and he was the “Defensive Player of the Year” during his senior year of high school. Bub was also mentioned in OSSA High School Highlights magazine.  He also attended East Central University of Ada, and worked as a Coating Inspector for EST in Oklahoma City.  Steven loved painting, drawing, golfing, and he loved all types of music.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his boys, family, and friends. He is survived by two sons, Mason Wesley Burris and Caden Hoyte Burris, both of Konawa; his parents, Calvin and Cindy Burris; his fiance’ Amy Caton of the home; one sister, Stephanie Mann and husband Jeremy of Ada, Oklahoma; one niece, Taylor Burris of Konawa; maternal grandparents, Hoyte Mayfield and wife Frances of Konawa; and special life-long friends, Jeremy Fallis of Mustang, Oklahoma, Zeb Kuestersteffen of Sasakwa, Oklahoma, Angie Christensen of Konawa, Logan Hisaw from Konawa; and numerous friends, family, and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Callen and Leona Burris.
