Konawa Funeral Home

Stephen Lawrence "Steba" Harrison , age 55 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at his home.

A Wake service is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening August 15th at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.  A Graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 16th at Vamoosa Cemetery.  Beverly Altizer will officiate.  Casket bearers are Travis Hunter, Josh Pranzetti, Jonathan Walker, Joshua Melton, Eli Melton, Gabriel Walker, Vincent Walker, and Peyton Hunter.  Honorary bearers are Johnny Harjo, Tony Melton, James Dean Harjo, Winfred Harjo, and Ronald Gipson.

Steba was born December 24, 1965 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to June Harrison, Jr. and Susie (Ahaisse) Jones.  He graduated from Konawa High School in 1984, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma in 1992 where he studied speech communications and joined the choir.  He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God Indian Mission in Konawa.  He enjoyed family life and watching his nieces and nephews play sports.  Steba worked for the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center as a cashier for fifteen years.  Steba was the friendliest, caring, kindest, non-judgmental person who loved making people laugh and feel welcome.  He had a smile that lit up the room and brightened anyone’s day.  When the nieces and nephews were younger, he told them fairy tales that ended up unique; for example, the three little pigs went to Wal-mart instead of the market, and the kids enjoyed his stories very much.  Steba was fun to be around and work with as told by his two BFF’s, Renell Holman and Alicia Gibson.  He had many friends where ever he went.  He will be truly missed.

He is survived by one son, Ezekiel Solano of the home; two daughters, Chesape Solano and Lynn Solano both of the home; three sisters, Linda Harrison of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Johnna Grant of Konawa, and Robyn Melton of Carnegie, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews, other family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Vincent Harrison, and one nephew, Christopher Daniels.
