Stephanie Renae (Carpitcher) Carr, 43 year old Purcell, Oklahoma resident and former Seminole County, Oklahoma resident passed from this life on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born October 29, 1973 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents Brenda Sue (Works) Votaw and Aleck Carpitcher. Stephanie graduated from Byng High School in 1991 and went on to earn her associates degree in criminology. She was also a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma. On December 15, 2006 Stephanie married Roger Darrin Carr in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma. Stephanie had previously worked as a store manager for Blockbuster Video in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Stephanie was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, the Rewalke Band. Survivors include her husband, Roger Darrin Carr of the home in Purcell, Oklahoma; her mother Brenda (Works) Votaw and her husband James Votaw of Maud, Oklahoma; her father, Aleck Carpitcher of Sayre, Oklahoma; her step-father, Earl Herron and his wife Karen Herron of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one step-son, Noah Carr of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five brothers, Earl Ralph “J.R.” Herron Jr. and his wife Christine of Mannsville, Oklahoma, Brandon Herron and his wife Jamie of Saint Louis, Oklahoma, Justin Herron and his wife Denise Herron of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Brian Murdock of McLoud, Oklahoma, D.J. Walls and his wife Tonya Walls of McAlester, Oklahoma; a very special cousin, Lori Brewer; and a host of other family and dear friends. Stephanie was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Missie and Hobbie Carpitcher; by her maternal grandparents, Henry and Mable Works; by her maternal step-grandparents, Junior and Loretta Votaw, and by her paternal grandmother, Nettie Herron. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma with Pastor Butch Bradley officiating the service. Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, Oklahoma. Visitation hours will be from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday. Serving as casket bearers are: Andre Womack, Brian Womack, D.J.
