Stella Mae Lena

Stella Mae Lena, 90, longtime Seminole resident died, Sunday, January 18, 2015 at her home in Seminole. Stella was born June 15, 1924 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Rhoda (Cato) and Toney Barnett. She had lived in Seminole since 1959. Stella was a homemaker most of her life, but during World War II she was a “Rosie the Riveter” at Douglas Aircraft in California. She was a member of Indian Nation Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma. Stella is survived by five sons; Louis Lena of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lawrence “Dinka “ Lena of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Walter Leon Lena of Phoenix, Arizona, Benny Lena of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Mark Lena of Seminole, Oklahoma,; three daughters Shirley McBride of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Linda Lou Lena of Wewoka, Oklahoma and Kahleetah Williams of Seminole, Oklahoma; twenty-nine grandchildren and fifty-eight great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday January 23, 2015 at the Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church, Southwest of Wewoka, Oklahoma, with Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. John Wayne Tulsa, officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma. There will be a wake service at 7:30 P.M., Thursday evening at the Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church. Casket bearers will be Phillip “ Bugz” Barnoski, Ricky “Bum” Barnoski, Johnathan Barnoski, Lance Barnoski, Bradley Barnett, Mark Johnson. Honorary bearers will be Butch Yargee, Wayne Pebworth, Captain Smith, Chris Factor and Chiefy Butler, Quan D. Ngo and Tam D. Ngo. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
