Sonny Miller

Albert Preston “Sonny” Miller, Jr. 83 year old longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Friday, April 3, 2015 in Seminole.  He was born September 2, 1931 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to parents, Albert Preston Miller, Sr. and Fannie (Self) Miller. On July 26, 1950, Sonny married Doris Marie Nelson in Seminole, Oklahoma. Sonny had worked several jobs throughout his life.  He had been a salesman, he worked in the oilfield, as a tool pusher, and he worked as a truck driver for C&J Trucking in Seminole for 45 years. Sonny was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Seminole.  He enjoyed the senior water aerobics class at Seminole State College. Sonny and his buddy “Ham” were always seen together at Daylight Donuts in Seminole.  They always brightened the day for the customers who came through the donut shop. Sonny leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Paul Miller and his wife, Debby, of Norman, Oklahoma; one sister, Paula Sadler and her husband Jim of Slayton, Texas; four grandchildren, Felicia Echelle of Seminole, Oklahoma, Bill Miller of Seminole, Oklahoma, Carl Miller who is an Army Staff Sergeant at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, Ruthie Betts of Norman, Oklahoma; seven great-grandchildren; several close friends including David Sanders of Seminole, Oklahoma, Larry and Gayla Hicks of Seminole, Oklahoma; and a host of other family and dear friends. Sonny is preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Doris Marie Miller; by one infant son, Charles Miller; by one son, Bill Miller; by one brother, John Miller and by one sister, Barbara Maxine “Bobbie” Johnson. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.  Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma with Dr. Jack Medlock officiating the service. Honorary Bearers will be the men of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. Visitation will begin on Monday morning, April 6, 2015 until 8:00 p.m., then on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 until the service time.
