"Smiley" Harold Dean Stone, age 62 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2014 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. He will be taken to the home for a private family service at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, and he will return to the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Friday for visitation before the service. Burial will follow at the Harjo Family Cemetery. Pallbearers are “Fuzzy” Lawrence Wolf, Larry Harjo, Jr., Buck Owings, Quincy Brown, Larry P. Wolf, Jr., Jake McGeisey, Woody West, and Nakoma West. Honorary pallbearers are Osceola Little, T.J. Wolf, T.A. Larney, Bill Armstrong, Larry Wolf, Sr., and Darrell Armstrong. Harold, known as “Smiley,” was born in Claremore, Oklahoma on July 10, 1951 to Jimmy Stone and Abilene (Harjo) Stone. Smiley was a life-long resident of Konawa and worked most of his life as a roughneck for the oilfield and for the roofing industry. He loved the outdoors, and he loved to hunt and fish on the weekends with his family. Smiley also loved to watch sports. Smiley leaves behind to cherish his memories, one son, Steven Stone of Seminole, Oklahoma; three daughters, Melanie Stone and Christine Stone, both of Seminole, and Amanda Larney of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one brother, Gerald Jimmy Stone of Citrus Heights, California; one sister, Marcella Sue Spencer of Pendleton, Oregon; his ex-wife and mother of his children, Karen Miller of Seminole; nine grandchildren, Isaiah Harjo,Iciss Harjo, and Kayden West all of Shawnee, Shea Stone and Darah Harjo of Seminole, Brendon Stone and Brooklyn Stone of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, Micheal Mitchell of Seminole, and Kaleb Stone of Morris, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Abilene Stone; one brother-in-law, Lester Spencer, and one uncle, Sam Harjo.
