Shirley Ann Hopper

Shirley Ann Hopper, Maud, OK resident, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025 in Seminole, OK at the age of 70. Shirley was born on July 8, 1954 in Boles, AR to Robert Richmond House Sr. and Juanita Onita (Payne) House. She married John L. Hopper on October 5, 2013 in Pink, OK.

Shirley had a love for life and her J.L., her daughter, son and all of the numerous grandkids and great grandkids. She is remembered as enjoying playing instruments and being so talented there wasn’t one she couldn’t play. Shirley took joy in using her talent for the Lord. Shirley loved to fish, sew, make jewelry and going to yard sales. She truly enjoyed family get togethers. Shirley loved puzzles and staying up late watching movies with J.L. Most of all she loved when she got to hit the Lucky Ducks.

Shirley is survived by her husband, J.L. Hopper; son, Jerry Briggs of Macomb, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Shirletta Briggs and Shane Arms of Macomb, OK; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rickey House and Terry House of Konawa, OK and Bobby and Cindy House of Konawa, OK; sisters, Janis Wheeler of Ada, OK and Brenda Tatum of Konawa, OK; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and many other family and friends. 

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jerry Don House, Aaron Dale House, Darrell Wayne House, Robert Leon House and sister, Betty Jean Stuckey.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Jerry Briggs, James Rumbaugh, Brady Arms, Zackary Moutaw, Dalton Briggs, Chris Rigney and Jordan Luman.

Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2025 and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, OK. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, OK with Bro. Wesley Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, OK. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, OK.
