Shirley Wilson Hill

July 9, 1936 — August 20, 2010

Shirley Wilson Hill, 74, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident died, Friday, August 20, 2010 at his home in Seminole. Mr. Hill was born July 9, 1936 in Mesa, Arizona to Dewey Gordon and Mattie Lou (Thomas) Hill. Mr. Hill was a Road Grader Operator for Seminole County District # 2 for many years and retired in 1991. Hw had lived in Seminole for most all of his life, where he was a member of the Haney Congregational Methodist Church and for a period of time a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows. He served briefly in the Oklahoma National Guard before receiving a Medical Discharge. Mr. Hill married Carolyn Sue (Faltermier) Hill on October 15, 1965 at his home in Seminole County. Mr. Hill is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Hill of Seminole, two daughters and son-in-law’s Terri and David Brown and LaDonna and Richard Neel both of Seminole, Oklahoma and daughter Mary Lou Hill of Oklahoma. A brother Amos Hill of Adrian, Michigan and a sister Dorma Allensworth of Seminole, Oklahoma, also survives him. Mr. Hill had eight grandchildren in whom he was very fond of, Ashley, Kirsten, Matthew, Levi, Paige, Jesse, Justin and Tamara.  Two special good friends also survive him, Ralph Castor of Seminole and Paschal Bevan of Cromwell  Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Ann McElyea, Maxine Attebury and Mavis Willis. Memorial services are planned for Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Mcintosh officiating.
