Shirley Baker

Shirley Joanne (Burton) Baker, 79 Shirley Joanne (Burton) Baker, Seminole county resident, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 79. Shirley was born February 1, 1935 in Gallup, New Mexico to parents, Del Burton and Jenny Mae (Baca) Burton. Shirley was raised by John and Flora Depaldos in Denver, Colorado. She married Donald Philip Baker on May 16, 1974 in Reno, Nevada. Shirley was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Fellowship Church. She loved being with family, friends, spending time at the Heritage House and watching wrestling on television. Shirley is survived by three sons, Billy Williams of Shawnee, Oklahoma, David Baker of Wells, Texas, Ricky Baker of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one daughter, Vicky Blakley of Seminole, Oklahoma and 11 grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Donald Baker on September 29, 1992. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma.
