Sherry Kilcrease Qualls

Sherry Kay (Wright) Kilcrease Qualls, 75 year old, longtime Velma, Oklahoma resident passed from this life on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Country Club Care Center in Duncan, Oklahoma.  She was born August 9, 1939 in Maud, Oklahoma to parents, Thelma (Parnell) Wright and M. Ector Wright. Sherry moved to the Duncan, Velma area in Stephens County in 1972 from Moore, Oklahoma.  She was a homemaker and had attended Calvary Baptist Church near Marlow, Oklahoma.  Sherry had been a member of the Red Hat Society. Sherry also loved children, she would often hand make plush animal toys to give them as treasured gifts. Sherry leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Gary and his wife Susie (Sullivan) Kilcrease of Velma, Oklahoma, Lee Kilcrease of Duncan, Oklahoma; one daughter, Teri Drye of Hanford, California; two brothers, Jerry Wright of Ft. Worth, Texas, Bill and his wife Renee Wright of Columbia, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Bryan Drye, Rodney Drye, Craig Kilcrease, Jay Kilcrease, Misty Matthes, Flint Kilcrease and Jessica Kilcrease; eleven great-grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends. Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Ector Wright, by her first husband and the father of her children, Wayne Kilcrease who died in 1998, by her 2nd husband, Joe Qualls who died in 2010, by one brother, Marvin Wright and by one sister, Helen Marie Smith. Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church, located 3 miles south of Marlow on Hwy. 81, with Pastor Lynn Parkhurst officiating the service. Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
