Sherry Carolyn (Robertson) Cowan

Sherry Carolyn (Robertson) Cowan, Seminole resident, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, at the age of 87.  Sherry was born on January 10, 1935, in Oilton, Oklahoma, to Crandal Wayne Robertson and Jewel Fern (Lunsford) Robertson.  She worked as a bookkeeper for Moran Oil for 28 years and retired the day before her 80th birthday.

Sherry always loved sewing and was a beautiful seamstress. She also loved her flower garden and took lots of pictures of her beauties.  She loved working on home projects and enjoyed all kinds of crafts.  Sherry was a “party planner” and took great joy in designing parties for all Jasmine Moran functions including Moran Oil and Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum.  Sherry was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Sherry is survived by her son, Michael Cowan and wife, Francesca of Houston, TX; two daughters, Lynn Moore of Seminole, Oklahoma and Ann Ogorek and Richard Glitsch of Choctaw, OK; two brothers, Stanley Robertson and wife, Lois of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Vaughn Robertson and wife, Judy of Sevierville, Tennessee; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Travis Cowan, Grant Cowan, Richard Glitsch, Jason Lytle, Joshua Ogorek and Adam Ogorek.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from noon – 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Seminole, Oklahoma.  Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
