Sherril Gene “ Sug” Everett, 78, longtime Seminole resident, died Sunday, November 22, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Sherril was born August 28, 1937 in Bowlegs, Oklahoma, where he grew up. He attended Bowlegs Schools and graduated from Bowlegs High School. Sug moved away from the Seminole area shortly after High School and came back to Seminole in 1973. He served his country for 11 years in the U.S. Navy, and was an E-4 at his discharge in July 20, 1966. During his time in the U.S. Navy, he was an electrician and continued that work after his discharge, working as an electrician in the Seminole oilfields and at one time owned and operated his own business. He was a member of the Twin Oaks Baptist Church in Seminole. Sug is survived by two sons, Johnny King of Seminole, Oklahoma, Jimmy Don King and his wife Darlene of Poteet, Texas, one daughter Loveta Newbolt and her husband Jeff of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brothers, Jim Everett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Ed Everett of Memphis, Tennessee, sister Pam Sanders of Fort Worth, Texas, his beloved aunt, Rosa Lee Williams of Burleson, Texas, Aunts Betty Brenner of Kansas, Kitty Kingsley of California and his uncle, Sonny Bishop of California; ten grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dessie Loveta (Bishop) Everett, his wife, Ada Maxine Everett on October 28, 2014, two children, Michael J. Everett and Sheryl Gene (Everett) Snyder. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Jim King officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy after the Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.
