Shelia Reana Grant

On September 14, 1962 in Seminole, Oklahoma Jim and Barbara Grant were blessed with one of God’s special angels on earth. They named that special blessing Shelia Reana Grant. On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in Cromwell God called that special angel back home. Though her life from the beginning had some complications, God blessed her with 62 years here with us. 

June 1972 Jim and Barbara enrolled Shelia at the Pauls Valley State School for the handicapped. In the early 80’s they moved her to the United Cerebral Palsy center in Oklahoma City. In 1985 Shelia came home to live with her family in Cromwell.

Shelia was a member of the Earlsboro Free Will Baptist church. She loved music, going to church and gospel singings with her family, watching her favorite cartoons “Bluey” & “Mickey Mouse” and eating out anytime she was in a vehicle. She enjoyed spending time on her “porch” watching her TV, playing with her babies and watching the cars pass by.

Shelia is survived by her mother, Barbara Grant of the home; sister, Suzann Grant of Cromwell; brother, Daniel Grant of Cushing; two nieces, Ashton Grant (Joshua Martin) of Cromwell and Penelope Grant of Cushing; great nephews, Corbin Real and Creed Real; great niece, Teagan Real of Cromwell; aunts, Carol Grant, Linda Kelsey and Carm Grant as well and many cousins and other family and friends.

Shelia was preceded in death by her father, Jim Grant; grandparents, Luther and Gracie Ferguson and Alfred and Sophie Grant; aunts, Ann Killilay, Opal Bellows, Dixie Fowler-Cooper, Evalyene Cleveland; uncles, Jeff Grant, Chester Ferguson, Hubert Ferguson and many cousins.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Steve Kelsey, Jerry Taylor, Darrell Price, Joshua Martin, Keith Cheatwood Marty Sanders and Gary Grant.

Viewing will be Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Cromwell First Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Leader officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
