Sharon Gates

Sharon Kay (Reed) Gates, 66, former longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, now living in Gilbert, Arizona where she passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in Gilbert, Arizona.  Sharon was born on November 4, 1952 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Rudolph Oliver Reed and Betty Jean (Whited) Reed. Sharon attended Seminole Public Schools and graduated from Seminole High School in the class of 1971.    Sharon enjoyed being a homemaker, baking , organizing and making clay crafts for Christmas, and dance competitions. Sharon is survived by her two sons , Jason Bateman and Wade Bateman,  and her daughter and son-in-law, Cassie and Cody Flora,  all of  Shawnee, Oklahoma.  Two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Betty Reed of Seminole, Oklahoma, and Richard and Trecia Reed of Mountain Home, Arkansas.  She is also survived by three grandchildren, Caryse Bateman, Cameron Flora, Cayden Flora , all of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph Oliver Reed, and Betty Jean (Whited) Reed.  Graveside  services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on  Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery  in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Services will be  under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
