Sean Ray Chalepah

Sean Ray Chalepah, 48 year old Shawnee, Oklahoma resident and former Seminole County resident, passed from this life Friday, October 18, 2019 at St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  He was born June 1, 1971 in Lawton, Oklahoma to parents Pattis Larney and Earl Chalepah. Sean graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in Seminole County, Oklahoma in 1989. He went on to continue his education graduating from Wright Business School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Sean worked as a CPA until he became disabled.  Sean was a member of the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma. Sean enjoyed ceremonial dances, singing native songs and playing with his grandchildren. Sean was a member of the Rock Spring Baptist Church. He was also a member of Gar Creek Ceremonial Grounds. Survivors include his mother, Pattis Larney of Shawnee, Oklahoma; his father, Earl Chalepah of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two daughters, Raelyn Chalepah and her husband Brandon Terronez of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Seena Chalepah of Shawnee, Oklahoma; maternal grandmother, Mary “Tiny” Larney of Seminole, Oklahoma; one brother, Travis Chalepah of Anadarko, Oklahoma; one sister, Tonya Grant of Edmond, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Eva Jo Terronez and Ozzy Dekotah Terronez; and a host of family and dear friends. Sean was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Tilmond and Emma Fixico and by his paternal grandparent Sally and Clarence Chalepah and by his maternal grandfather Jimmy Carbitcher. A wake service will be held at Snake Creek #2 Church on Wednesday evening October 23, 2019. Funeral services will be held at Snake Creek #2 Church at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2019 with Jimpsy Harjo officiating the service.  Interment will follow at Snake Creek Church Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be: Leonard Henneha, Isaac Hill, Travis Chalepah, Davy Buffalo Hill, Eric Wise and Jack Hill. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
