Sandra Jean (Irby) Atkinson

Sandra Jean (Irby) Atkinson, age 74 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 11, 2012. A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Sandra was born on September 3, 1937 in Konawa to Delmar Irby and Clio (Bowerman) Irby.  She was a graduate of Konawa High School and married Leonard C. Atkinson.  Sandra also worked as a seamstress for a clothing industry in Konawa. She is survived by one son, Richard Dale Byrd of Fairview, Oklahoma; one daughter, Barbara Jean Lee of Oklahoma City; two brothers, David Irby of Blanchard, Oklahoma, and Jesse Irby of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Lynda McCraw of Konawa, Beverly Towler of Rall, Texas, and Patricia McGuire of Wewoka; four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmar and Clio Irby; her husband, Leonard Atkinson; one brother, D. G. Irby; and two sisters, Betty Myatt, and Norma Tew.
