Safarona Ruth (Taylor) Stevens

Safarona Ruth (Taylor) Stevens, age 71 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Valley View Hospital in Ada. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.  Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.  Rev. Larry Chesser will officiate.  Pallbearers are Triver Heard, Christopher Heard, Matthew Edwards, and Dana Meadows.  Honorary Pallbearer is Kenneth Warrior. Visitation will be on Wednesday and Thursday. Safarona was born in Konawa on March 15, 1941 to Charley Taylor and Reva (McClain) Taylor.  She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse, and she was a member of the Grace Community Church. She is survived by one brother, Charley H. Taylor of California; five grandchildren, Sara Darnell of Ohio, Amy Darnell of Massachusetts, Myranda Owens of Mounds, Oklahoma, Roxanne Edwards of Konawa, and Brandon Stevens of Henryetta, Oklahoma; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Reva Taylor; one son, Randy Stevens; and two brothers, Gerald and Jesse Taylor.
