Russell Gibson

Russell Lavone Gibson, Jr., 48, Holdenville, Oklahoma resident, died Saturday, November 19, 2016 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  Russell was born June 3, 1968 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Russell Lavone Gibson, Sr. and Bessi (Lane) Gibson. Russell was a correctional counselor at the Davis Correctional Facility and was a member of the Church of Refuge. Russell is survived by his mother Bessi Lane of Wewoka, Oklahoma, three sons Devion Johnson of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Kenny Waterman and Arron Waterman both of Seminole, Oklahoma, three daughters Daniel Hamburger and Desarae Pointer both of Holdenville, Oklahoma and Crystal Waterman of Seminole, Oklahoma, two sisters Judy Lovelace of Wewoka, Oklahoma and Janis ( Sue) Gregory of Holdenville, Oklahoma, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father and a sister. Memorial services will be at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Church of Refuge at 105 Broadway in Holdenville, Oklahoma with James Williams officiating. Memorial arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
