Russell Coker, 81, longtime Seminole resident died, Saturday, August 27, 2011 at his home in Seminole. He was born on August 16, 1930 in Konawa, Oklahoma to Garfield and Mandy (West) Coker. Mr. Coker moved to Seminole 21 years ago from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he spent most of his working career as a machinist. He was a member of the Billy Hooton Memorial United Methodist Church and had served in the Oklahoma National Guard. He married Elizabeth Yeager on August 26, 1954 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He is survived by is wife Elizabeth Coker of the home in Seminole. He is also survived by a son, Russell Coker, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, three daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Chris Cerda of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Rinah Coker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Brenda Coker and Sam Hoosh of Seminole, Oklahoma. Six grandchildren; Brye Tinoco, Terry Cerda, Joshua Cerda, Aaron Cerda, Asiah Cummings and Freedom H. Coker survive him. Seven great grandchildren; Isiah Cerda, Mya Cerda, Kyleigh Tinoco, Ezekiel Cerda, Chloe Cerda, Matthew Tinoco and Madison Tinoco. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Woodrow Coker, Gary Coker, George Coker and his sister, Johnnie Mae Westphall and grandchildren Tonia Cerda and Sonia Cerda. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Margaret Battiest officiating. Burial will take place at the Coker Family Cemetery. There will be a wake service on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Casket bearers will be Aaron Cerda, Chris Cerda, Sam Hoosh, Russell Coker, Jr., Alan Neitzel, and Tommy Tinoco. Honorary Bearers will be Roger Butler and Mickey Hill.
