Ruby Lee (Stafford) Wood, 96 year-old, longtime Seminole County resident passed from this life Sunday, July 11, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  She was born November 14, 1913 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to parents Aulby Eldon Stafford and Effie Ruby (Hixon) Stafford. Ruby moved from Ada, Oklahoma to Seminole in 1949.  Ruby earned her bachelors degree from East Central University in Ada.  She married Robert Paul Wood on January 13, 1933 in Ada, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on February 13, 1995. Ruby was a social worker for the Department of Human Services for 29 years in Wewoka retiring in 1978.   Ruby leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, David E. Wood of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Dale L. Wood of Laurel, Mississippi; one daughter, Doris J. Bailey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson, Christopher Wood in 2004; one great grandson, William Walters in 2001; one brother, William A. Stafford in 1980; two sisters, Alma Holdsclaw and Dorothy McDarment also preceded her in death. A Memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at St. John’s Episcopal Church located at 5201 North Brookline in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Locally graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens two miles east of Seminole on Hwy 270.  Rev. David R. Stock will officiate both services. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
