Ruby May Byford

Ruby May Byford, age 82 and a resident of Asher, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be planned at a later date, and cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma. Ruby was born July 15, 1934 in Oklahoma City to Harvey Harrison Byford and Zula N. (Blakeley) Byford.  After receiving her G.E.D., she worked as a groundskeeper for York Air Conditioning Company.  Ruby also proudly served in the U. S. Army as a Medical Technician in the early 1950's. She is survived by two sisters, Maudie Howard and husband, Kenneth of Norman and Betty Crawshaw and husband John of Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Zula Byford; two brothers, Charlie and Harvey Byford; and one sister, Jewell Weeks.
