Roy M. VanZant

Roy M. VanZant, 64 year old longtime Seminole County resident and current Midwest City resident, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 20, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma.  He was born September 15, 1951 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to parents, Junior M. VanZant and Mary Pearl (Gray) VanZant. Roy worked as a mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma until his retirement. Survivors include three sons; Casey VanZant and his wife Cathey of Long Island, New York, Avery VanZant of Seminole, Oklahoma, Nathan VanZant and his wife Kimi of Seminole, Oklahoma; two daughters, D.D. VanZant of Dallas, Texas, Miracle Johnson and her husband Michael of Mountain Air, New Mexico; three brothers, “Cozzy” VanZant and his wife Trish of Harrah, Oklahoma, Michael VanZant and his wife Cathy of West Fork, Arkansas, G.W. Cross and his wife Stacy of Coweta, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mary Ann Briscoe and her husband Joe of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Georgia Anna Gibson and her husband Scott of Moore, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and dear friends. Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Mary Pearl VanZant, and by one brother, Walter VanZant. Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Details for a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
