Rosanna Louise “Rose” (Coody) Jones, 71 year old Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Friday, March 31, 2017 at her home in Seminole County, Oklahoma. She was born January 23, 1946 in Claremore, Oklahoma to parents Jimmy Coody and Amanda (Little) Coody, she was raised by Wilson Woods and Annabell Coody she considered her parents. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1964, and attended Seminole Junior College and received a degree in business, she retired from TDK in Shawnee in 2004, she also worked for Blue Bell ( Now Wrangler) for 15 years. Rosanna was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma and had served as a General council representative for 14 years, she also served as Band Chairman, Assistant Band Chairman, Assistant Band Chief Chairman, the Trust Fund Board, Early Childhood and the Constitution Revision Committee for the tribe for the Ceyvha Band. She believed in her traditional ways in which she attended Fishpond Ceremonial Grounds up until two years ago, when her health started to fail her. She loved sewing, patchwork, making shawls, family gatherings when they could, attending basketball games with her brother and keeping herself occupied. Survivors include, her husband, Thomas ( Tom) Jones of the home, one daughter,Deana Tiger and Allyson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Ashley N. Tiger of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; step daughters, Muriel Wright, Carolyn Cully of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and step-son Dan Jones of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, two brothers, Kenneth Coody and his wife Faye (Kaney) Coody of Seminole, Oklahoma, Willea Harjo of Maud, Oklahoma; two sisters, Jessica Coody of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Clarice Wise Talamasy of Seminole, Oklahoma; and a host of other family and friends. Rosanna is preceded in death by her mother, Amanda (Little) Coody; by her father, Jimmy Coody; and Annabell Coody and Wilson Woods, by her nephew, Micco James Coody; by her great grandson, Kaden; by her sister, Noetta Paulette Harjo; by three brothers, Robert "Stinky" Coody, Timothy "Bama" Harjo and Joe Coody; by her grandfather, Thomas Little Jr., and by her grandmother, Losanna Harjo Little and great nephew, Dakota Joshua. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Jimsey Harjo and Rev. Houston Tiger officiating the service. Burial will follow at the Coody-Harjo Family Cemetery located southwest of Seminole. A wake service will be held Monday, April 3, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Casket bearers will be Kyle Coody, George Mooney, Charlie Hill, Dewayne Miller, Chris Perry and Tony Perry. Honorary bearers will be the Seminole Nation Light horsemen, Jordan and Chris Coody. A special thank you to Russell Murray Hospice.
