Rosa Jett

Rosa Mae Jett, 80, passed from this life on June 22, 2009 in Shawnee.  Rosa was born October 10, 1928 in the Maud Hospital to parents Vergie and Cecil Pratt.  She grew up north of Maud and attended Cook grade school.  Rosa graduated from Maud High School in 1946 and married her high school sweetheart Dale Jett of Tecumseh, Oklahoma.  She worked various part-time jobs until becoming the mother of Karen, Mike and Kevin.  Rosa was a homemaker, loved her children and grandchildren, and in her later years enjoyed crocheting, watching “soaps” and classic movies, reading, and playing bingo. Rosa was preceded in death by her daughter, parents, husband of 40 years, and her beloved twin sister, Teresa Fae Peters. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Sharon Baptist Church, 19002 Gordon Cooper Drive in Shawnee with Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating.  Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, Oklahoma.
