Roland Robertson, 92, lifelong Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at his home. Roland was born August 2, 1928 in Seminole, Oklahoma, to William Houston and Ora Mae (Barrett) Robertson. Roland grew up in Seminole and attended Dora Public School.
Roland was the Water Superintendent for 44 years for the City of Seminole. He was a faithful city employee with extensive knowledge of the City’s water infrastructure. Roland served his country in the United States Navy serving shortly after the end of World War II and attained the rank of Seaman 2nd Class.
Roland married Ruby (Martin) Robertson on July 12, 1948 in Seminole, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death, after 64 years of marriage.
Roland is survived by; his two daughters; D’Ann Harris and her husband Mark of Seminole, Oklahoma and Shirley McDaniel and her husband Guy of Moore, Oklahoma, his brother; Winston Earl Robertson of Moore, Oklahoma, his sister Lucille Barber and her husband Arnold of Texas, his grandchildren; Tammy Sellers and her husband Jeremy of Ada, Oklahoma, Brent Gentry of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Shelly Pogue and her husband Cris of Seminole, Oklahoma, five great grandchildren; Montana and Mason Sellers of Ada, Payton McAdams and her husband Tanner of Antlers, Oklahoma , Myles Gentry of Antlers, Oklahoma, and Rylee Pogue of Seminole, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruby Robertson and numerous siblings.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Little Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Nance officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Navy.
Service arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
