Roger E. Parks

November 17, 1954 — April 19, 2018

From this earth on Thursday, April 19, 2018, a very special person was taken. Roger E. Parks was a devoted and passionate husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. For reasons unknown to us the Lord decided he needed a special craftsman in heaven. Roger was always the go to guy for anyone needing something crafted. Whether it be metal, wood, plastic or fiberglass, he could not only build it but he could imagine it first, describe it to you and then go make it. He loved a challenge. His creativity, soft spoken wisdom and love for life created a legacy that will continue to live on. Roger along with his wife Pam founded Blue Wave Boats and later Silver Wave Pontoons. His boys Richard and Steven grew up within the business and now continue the legacy. Roger just retired this past year to build the dream home with his wife Pam. This amazing home, almost finished will shelter his beloved wife until they can be together again. His memory, passion and devotion will be forever remembered and cherished by his loving wife and soul mate Pamela Parks of the home, his extraordinary sons: Richard Parks and his wife Elizabeth of Seminole and Steven Parks and his wife Ashley of Seminole, 5 wonderful grandchildren; Case Parks, Joshua Parks, Linkin Parks, Britni Parks and Kennedy Coker all of Seminole.; caring brothers Gregory B. Parks of Seminole, Jeff B. Parks of Seminole and Michael Parks and his wife Yuko of Knoxville, Arkansas and adorable baby sister Sonja Parks of Knoxville, Arkansas and his loving mother-in-law Mary Jo Jennen of Russellville, Arkansas, in-laws and cousins and friends too numerous to mention will always remember his love for everything. Roger was born in California, grew up in Knoxville, Arkansas and resided his final destination to Seminole, Oklahoma. He graduated from Lamar High School a Proud Warrior in Arkansas in 1972. The family will receive friends and family at a visitation on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home. We hope you will join us in a celebration of his life at the First Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 1:00 P.M., followed by a loving memorial procession through his gardens and water features to his final resting place on his own  land on a hillside overlooking his and God’s creation. A reception at the home will follow and everyone is welcome. Richard, Steven, Case, Joshua, Linkin and Greg Parks will carry their father, grandfather and brother to his final resting place.
