Rod Johnson, 67 year old Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Monday, June 26, 2017 at St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was born February 18, 1950 in Checotah, Oklahoma. Rod retired from the oilfield several years ago where he had been a truck driver and a dispatcher. He was also a member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ in Seminole. Survivors include Peggy Johnson of the home; three sons, Chris and Lestie of Edmond, Oklahoma, Darian and Hollie of Seminole, Oklahoma, Tyler and Rayna of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Alisa and Rena’ of Edmond, Oklahoma; two brothers, James of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Larry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-granddaughters; and a host of other family and friends. Rod was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine (Highfill) Johnson, and by one great-grandson, Trenton “Tag” Godwin who died in 2012. Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Walnut Avenue Church of Christ in Seminole with Larry Sneed officiating the service with a special speaker, Drake Johnson (Grandson) assisting. The family has requested that donations be sent to Walnut Avenue Church of Christ, 619 W. Walnut Ave. Seminole, Oklahoma 74868 in memory of Rod Johnson.
