Robert "Bob" Granville Beach

February 7, 1925 — July 18, 2020

Seminole

Robert “Bob” Granville Beach passed away July 18, 2020 at his home in Seminole, Oklahoma at the age of 95, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born February 7, 1925 in Drumright, Oklahoma to parents David Edwards Beach and Mary (Canham) Beach.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII from 1943-1946. He was in the 7th Army, 103rd Division Infantry, Baker Company, 411th, 2nd Battalion. The military decorations and citations he received were American Theater Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Company 161 Headquarters, 103rd Infantry Division.

Bob was in Alcoholics Anonymous from October 5, 1967 until his death. He would have celebrated 53 years of sobriety in October. Of this, he was most pleased.

Bob was an Independent Oilman.

Bob was a man of great humor and loved to tease, goodheartedly, those he loved most. Each afternoon his personal assistant, Shanna, would bring in his stock report. If it was good, he was delighted and if it was bad, he would tell Shanna she was fired. Shanna would always smile and say, see you tomorrow Bob. His family was extremely devoted and loved him greatly and he loved each one of them. He was a humorous, kind and generous man. He helped many people but never wanted them to know from whom the help came.

During his illness, he had wonderful care from his family and from those he considered family (Francene, Shanna, Keith, Debi and Terry) as well as the wonderful care given by Elara Caring Hospice, particularly Kendra and Rachelle.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Karen Beach, his children; David Beach and his wife Sherry, Allison Beach and her husband Tom, and Daniel Beach and his wife Debbie, grandchildren; Ivan Marrinson, Will Beach, Leo Marrinson and Aidan Beach and siblings; Betsey Stone and Penny guest and her husband Jim. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Lewis Beach.

His private funeral service was at his home on July 22, 2020. His love, humor and kindness will be greatly missed.

Arrangements were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
