Longtime Seminole resident Bob Sands passed away on February 22, 2010 at his home at the age of 66. Bob was born on August 30, 1943 in Bergman, Arkansas to Paul Willard and Verna (Phifer) Sands. He married Sandra Kay (Rhodes) on December 18, 1964 in Seminole, Oklahoma; she survives him of the home. He worked for Alko-Kober for 24 years in maintenance; he also worked at Wal-Mart part time in the paint and hardware department for two years. He was a member of the Temple of Praise Church in Seminole. He held church services at the Pioneer Nursing Home for 20 years. He loved to work in his yard and did yard work for area residents. He served in the National Guard for 5 years. He is survived by his wife Sandy Sands of the home, daughter, Robin Dillon of Seminole, brother, Tommy Orr of Moore, Oklahoma, two sisters; Wanda Rennie of Tustin, California and Glenda Resendez of Pasadena, Texas, three grandchildren; Angelina Campbell, Daphne Bain and husband Chris and Charity Dillon and one great grandchild, Issac Bain. He is preceded death by his mother and father, sister, Pauline Sands and brother, Frankie Orr. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Temple of Praise Church with Rev. Harold Turner and Jeff Nance officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Little Cemetery, Little, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be: Buster McCoy, Tommy Farrow, Doug Graham, Donald Emmitt, Manuel Sanchez and Kevin Pollard. Honorary Bearers will be Tommy Stephens, Bob Nance and James Winkcompleck.
