Robert James “Jack” Huckleberry, age 77 and a long-time resident of Konawa, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 29th at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Burial will follow at Dora Cemetery. Rev. Kevin Duck will officiate. Pallbearers are Ty Huckleberry, Terry Huckleberry, Tracy Huckleberry, Todd Huckleberry, Cole Huckleberry, Reed Huckleberry, and Travis Huckleberry. Honorary pallbearers are Clay Mowdy, Randy Walker, Stanley Johnson, Denver Merrell, Bill Isaacs, D.J. Huckleberry, and Danny Huckleberry. Jack was born on January 12, 1934 to Bud Vernon Huckleberry and Rheda (Ingram) Huckleberry in Vamoosa. He is a graduate of Vamoosa High School, and he attended Cameron University and Oklahoma State University, and East Central University. He married Dianne (Jones) at Vamoosa on October 16, 1959. He was a farmer and a rancher who enjoyed working cattle and horses. Jack served as a Marine in the Korean War in Special Ops. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Konawa. He is survived by his wife, Dianne Huckleberry of Konawa; four sons, Ty Huckleberry and wife, Rayna of Konawa, Terry Huckleberry and wife, Susan of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Tracy Huckleberry and wife, Martha of Pleasanton, Texas, and Todd Huckleberry of Manhattan, New York; one brother, Charles Huckleberry of Konawa; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
