Robert Harjo

Robert Lee Harjo, 74 Robert Lee Harjo, Seminole county resident passed away at his home on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the age of 74. Robert was born September 28, 1939 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to parents, Dewey Harjo and Ida (Edwards) Harjo. Robert graduated from Wetumka High School, he worked as a handyman, maintenance and in construction work as a welder. He was of the Baptist faith and belonged to the Seminole tribe and the Heritage House. Robert is survived by three sons, Dewey Harjo of Missouri, Isaac Harjo of Seminole, Oklahoma and Johnny Harjo of Arkansas; five daughters, Idalena Harjo Berry of Dallas, Texas, Rena Harjo of Seminole, Oklahoma, Allie Harjo of Missouri, Kathryn Lowe of Kansas and Marsha Harjo of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Robert was preceded in death by David Harjo in 1968 and Dorothy Lee (Yount) Harjo on December 1976. Funeral services will be held 2:00 Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Indian Baptist Church of Wetumka, Oklahoma with Rev. Darrell Coachman and Pastor Willy Fields officiating. Burial will take place at Yeager Cemetery, Yeager, Oklahoma. Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma.
