Robert Haney

Robert Dale Haney, 73, Moore,  Oklahoma resident and formerly a resident of Seminole, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Seminole Care and Rehab Center in Seminole. Robert was born October 10, 1942 in Allen, Oklahoma, to William “Bud” Haney and Dorothy (Thomas) Haney. Robert grew up and attended schools in the Allen, Oklahoma area. Robert was retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service to his country. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and served in Korea and Vietnam, serving in the Military Police. After retirement he was a mail handler at the U.S. Post Office in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He married Hannaelore Haney on June 20, 1963 in Germany. She preceded him in death after 51 years of marriage. Robert is survived by his sons, William Chris Haney of Seminole, Oklahoma and Kevin Whitchurch of Moore, Oklahoma, daughters Christine Haney of Redland, California, Kim Haney of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Tammy Gartner of Moore, Oklahoma and Sheila R. Haney of Seminole, Oklahoma, one brother Buddy Ray Haney of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and two sisters Linda Hill of Norman, Oklahoma and Judy Moore of Maud, Oklahoma, fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son Robert Dale Haney, Jr. and a brother Ronald Haney. Services are planned at a later date at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma, with full military honors. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Funeral Information: March 14, 2016, 1:00 PM
