Robert Garrison

Robert Lee (Bob) Garrison, 78 Robert Lee (Bob) Garrison of Seminole, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Bob was born October 9, 1939 in Seminole to parents, Robert Allen (Bob) and Mary Garrison. Bob graduated from Seminole High School in 1957 and married Saundra Lou Baker on June 1, 1963 at the Bowlegs Baptist Church. Bob served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965 and was stationed in Charleston, South Carolina. After his discharge from the Air Force, he and Saundra moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma where he continued his employment with Humpty Dumpty Supermarket.  Bob was store manager of several Tulsa and Broken Arrow stores before they were dissolved in 1976. After his employment with Humpty Dumpty, he managed the Wells Market store in Coweta, Oklahoma. Later he worked for W.W. Wendt Food Brokerage, calling on grocery stores and becoming the Northeast Oklahoma District Supervisor. When Wendt sold out to Jones Distributing Company, he continued calling on stores. In 1998 Bob transferred to Seminole, Oklahoma where he continued working until his retirement in 2001. Bob is survived by his wife of the home, Saundra Garrison; one son, Robert Wayne Garrison and his wife Martha of Woodstock, Georgia; grandson, Marine Sgt. Robert William Garrison and his wife Brenda of San Diego, Calfiornia; one sister, Linda Smith of Shawnee, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Natalie Baker of Seminole, Oklahoma; brother-in-law Norman Polson of Independence, Kansas. Bob was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Allen Garrison who passed away in 2016; his parents, Bob and Mary Garrison; sister, Suzanne Polson; brothers-in-law Wayne Baker, John Baker and Benny Smith. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Little Chapel Cemetery, Little, Oklahoma with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma.
