Robert Edward Dockrey, 60, Shawnee, Oklahoma resident, died Friday, July 7, 2017 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Robert was born on December 20, 1956 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to parents, Lee Edward Dockrey and Laveda Faye (Souders) Dockrey. He grew up in the Johnson Community. He attended Johnson and North Rock Creek Elementary, Earlsboro High School as well as Seminole State College and Oklahoma State University. Robert worked in HVAC and maintenance all his life at, Fred Jones Ford Manufacturing, Mission Hill Hospital, TDK, and Tulsa before starting his own business Absolute Service Company which he operated for over 30 years in the Shawnee, Oklahoma area. His business success was highlighted in the Shawnee News-star on June 11, 2006. His passion was his work, along with reading and flying his plane, following sports and watching Perry Mason and Gunsmoke, with his wife Terrell. His most memorable times were when he got away to his place he built in Belize. Robert was very intelligent, creative, poetic, philosophical, a great teacher and mentor to many along the way. He was modest in his living and loved to listen to music, and play his guitar with his son Christopher. This soaring bird was adventurous whose free spirit became caged after becoming ill over 6 months ago, and was no longer able to do the things he was driven to do. He will always be remembered beyond the borders of this community and greatly missed. Through the hands of many doctors and nurses and the hearts of family, God gave him time with us to cherish him a little longer and for this, we are very grateful. Robert is survived by, his wife Terrell Lynn Warren Dockrey of Shawnee, Oklahoma, they were married on December 27, 1982 in Shawnee, Oklahoma; three sons Christopher Robert Dockrey and his wife Loretta Dockrey of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Theodore Dockrey and his wife Jessica of Edmond, Oklahoma and Joseph Dockrey of Shawnee, Oklahoma, two daughters Malita Green and her husband Mike of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Candace Bruner and her husband Martin of Shawnee, Oklahoma and his sister Lisa Dockrey-Claytor and her husband Mike of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, his grandchildren Laveda Dockrey, Shaniah Green, Symphony Green, Benjamin Bruner, Robert Bruner, Chloe Bruner, Sean Bruner and Ava Dockrey.
