Longtime Seminole resident, Robert Preston Conyers, entered eternal life Sunday, March 17, 2013 in Seminole, Oklahoma after a prolonged illness. He was 66 years old. Robert was born on June 16, 1946 in Charleston, South Carolina to Mozelle and Mary Garnet (Wingate) Conyers. Robert married Shirley Mae (Green) on January 23, 1989 in Texas. Robert never knew a stranger. He had a great love for his children, family and friends. He enjoyed being outside, tinkering with things, driving a truck and camping at the lake. He was especially fond of his pets. Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home; one son, Robert Preston Conyers, Jr. of Texas; six daughters, Jackie Davis of California, Deneen Wolfe, April Wolfe, and Kim McDonald, all of Oklahoma City, Jeri Cramer and Kimako Martin of Oklahoma; one adopted son, Brian Underwood of Oklahoma; two sisters, Ann Cogburn of Texas and Barbara Gene Nelson of Oklahoma; two brothers, Herbert “Peewee” Conyers of Oklahoma, Bud Conyers of Texas; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, four nieces, four nephews, as well as a host of other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mozelle and Mary Conyers, a son, Dennis Joe “Fowler” Wolfe and two grandsons, Terry Yearwood and Brandon White. The family would like to express their special appreciation to Faith Hospice and the staff at Seminole Estates. All went above and beyond expectations in caring for Robert. A graveside funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Little Cemetery north of Seminole. Jimmy Wingate and Steven Choate will officiate. Serving as Casket Bearers: Mike McDonald, Bradley Flick, Christopher Joslin, Brian Underwood, Joe E. Yearwood and Jerry Yearwood. Following graveside services there will be a luncheon for family and friends at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints at 2500 Johns St. in Seminole, Oklahoma. Across from the Wrangler Plant. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to help. A fund has been set up at Bank of the West in Seminole, OK. Donations can also be made at Swearingen Funeral Home.
