Ricky Gale Burgess

Ricky Gale Burgess, age 57 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 in Seminole County. A Wake service is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel of Konawa, Oklahoma.  Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2015 at the Chapel.  Burial will follow at the Burgess Family Cemetery.  Jimsey Harjo will officiate.  Pallbearers are Chevy Motley, Chad Foster, Mitch Buck, Tommy Gibson, Jr., Jeremey Napoleon, Ross Kinnamon.  Honory pallbearers are Chris Baker, Franklin West, Jason Burgess, Billy Archer, and Dale Archer. Ricky was born November 26, 1958 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Bobby Burgess and Ellen May (Larney) Burgess.  He graduated from Konawa High School.  He married Sherry Hardesty on December 7, 1984 in Konawa.  Ricky worked as a machinist for OG&E, and he attended Vamoosa Baptist Church.  He had lived all of his life in Konawa.  Ricky enjoyed working word search puzzles and enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Burgess of Konawa; his mother, Ellen Burgess of Konawa; two sons, Michael Burgess and wife, Destiny of Ada, Oklahoma, and Ricky Burgess, Jr. of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one daughter, Sonya Wilkie and husband, Eddie of Shawnee; two sisters, Cora Osborne of Konawa, and Barbara West and husband, Frank of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Burgess; one brother, Bobby Burgess, and one sister, Lori Millican.
