Richard Leslie “ Dick” Walton, 68, Seminole resident died Friday, July 13, 2012 at his home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Richard was born June 19, 1944 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Walter and Elvarita (Caton) Walton. Richard moved to Seminole from Tecumseh, Oklahoma nine years ago. He had also lived in the Midwest City, Oklahoma area for many years. He was an auto mechanic and had worked at several automobile dealerships in the Oklahoma City Metro area and his last employment was with Southwest Ford in Oklahoma City. Richard had formerly worked at Oklahoma Publishing Company and the Water Department at Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and V.F.W. Post 1719 in Chandler, Oklahoma. Richard served in the U.S. Army. Richard married Betty E. (Norris) Walton in Ada, Oklahoma in June of 1987. Richard is survived by his wife Betty Walton of the home; five sons Keith Walton of Del City, Oklahoma, Dan Walton of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Richard Walton of Oklahoma, Robert Barthelemy of Norman, Oklahoma and John Bartelemy of Midwest City, Oklahoma; four daughters Rona Fuller of Lawton, Oklahoma, Erin Foreman of Durant, Oklahoma, Tracy Cochran of Del City, Oklahoma and Tina Deck of Bowlegs, Oklahoma; two sisters Jan Miller of Harrah, Oklahoma and DeeAnn Ramsey of Jones, Oklahoma and 28 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Little Cemetery. Rev. J.R. Reed will officiate at the services. Military Honors will follow at Little Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Craig Carpitche, Cale Carpitche, Clayton Carpitche, Steven Brown, Ray Griffin and Jeffrey Walton. Honorary bearers will be Bud Miller, William Walton, Dion Bleer and Gary Taylor. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
