Richard Earl Parker, Jr.

Richard Earl Parker, Jr., age 64, passed away on August 19, 2020 in Norman, Oklahoma.  Richard was born on June 1, 1956 in Liberal, Kansas to parents Richard Earl Parker, Sr. and Thelma Joan (Kidd) Parker. Richard was raised in Seminole, Oklahoma and graduated from Seminole High School in 1974, but was currently living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Richard married Shahla Djamshidi on December 23, 2008 in Moore, Oklahoma.

Richard worked in the oil and gas industry as a drilling and completion consultant. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, working on his International Scouts and grilling for family and friends.

Surviving Richard is his wife, Shahla of the home, his son; James Parker of Fort Worth, Texas, his daughters; Crystal Parker of Okmulgee, Oklahoma and Sara Parker and Clayton Aicklen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, sisters; Mary Bryan and her husband Dickey of Seminole, Oklahoma and Denise Templeton and her husband Joe of Summerfield, North Carolina, grandchildren; Jacob Parker, Sawyer Rickerd, Zachary Wise, Jr. and Ryan Jones, Jr. and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Earl Parker, Sr. and Thelma Joan Parker and his brother Dennis Parker.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with the Rev. Elizabeth Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery, east of Seminole.

Casket bearers will be Joe Templeton, Jacob Parker, Sawyer Rickerd, James Parker, Eric Bryan, Jeremy Bryan and Clayton Aicklen.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
