Longtime Seminole resident Richard Basque, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 in Seminole, Oklahoma at the age of 52. He was born on February 15, 1957 in Hilo, Hawaii to Richard Basque Sr. and Marlene Tavares Isaac. Richard married Jennifer Lynn (Griffin) Basque on September 9, 1978 in Seminole, Oklahoma. He worked for Miller Truck Lines in Stroud, Oklahoma for twelve years and was currently employed with Tiger Trucks in Seminole where he had been working for three years. Richard was a true trucker at heart; he loved collecting trucking memorabilia and was an avid M&M collector. He also loved bowling and was apart of the League Sunday Night Mix at Shawnee Bowl. He also served as a sergeant in the United States Army He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Jennifer Basque of the home, his parents, Marlene Isaac and step-father Leon of Mustang, Oklahoma, Richard Basque, Sr. of Yukon, Oklahoma, two daughters and sons-in-law: Brandy and Brandon Thetford of Moore, Oklahoma, Misti and Kris Romines of Seminole, one brother and sister-in-law: Clifford and Merri Basque of Yukon, Oklahoma, two sisters and brothers-in-law: Kathleen and Adam Martin of Yukon, Oklahoma and Debrah and John Macardo of Hawaii, four grandchildren; Mattison Thetford, Patience Romines, Makenzie Thetford and Payton Romines. Numerous nieces and nephews that he loved and considered sons and daughters and a host of other family and dear friends also survive him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His brother Guy Paul Basque who passed away on December 31, 2009 precedes him in death. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Father Basil Kennan, O.S.B.
