McLoud resident, Rena Ann Hathcock, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023, at her home at the age of 72.
Rena, the daughter of JB and Louise (Dutton) Johnson, was born November 26, 1950, in Oklahoma City. On October 4, 1969, she married Michael Hathcock, in Bethel, Oklahoma. Rena was a hairdresser for 40 years, in the Bethel and Pink area. Rena spent a lot of time supporting Bethel, Asher and Dale Schools Athletic Programs. She enjoyed watching her sons and grandkids play ball. She loved going to Lake Eufaula, where she would water ski and spend time with family and friends each weekend; she loved cooking for her family and enjoyed the holidays. Rena also liked to snow ski, she was a bowler and was an avid fan of OU football.
She was preceded in death by her parents, JB and Louise Johnson, and a brother, Randy Johnson.
Rena is survived by her husband, Michael, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Toby and Dana Hathcock, of Dale, and Jeff and Carrie Hathcock, of Shawnee; six grandchildren, Gunnar and Michaela Hathcock, Gant and Caitlin Hathcock, Kemberlen Hathcock, Jace and Kali Hathcock, Ella Min, and Zoe Min; four great grandchildren, Paityn Hathcock, Bennett Hathcock, Kash Hathcock, Cal Hathcock, and coming soon, Rush Hathcock; along with many other family members and friends.
Rena’s family is hosting a Celebration of Her Life, Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., at Rena and Michael’s home. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
