Regina Combs

Regina Mae (Marshall) Combs, 62 year-old longtime Seminole resident passed from this life Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in Ada, Oklahoma.  She was born June 23, 1949 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to parents Bell (Gap) Marshall and Cleveland Marshall. Regina grew up in the Saint Louis and Maud, Oklahoma area, graduating from Maud High School in 1968.  She was a proud member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe.  Regina went on to further her education attending Secretarial School.  She married Fred C. Combs on June 19, 1969 in Maud, Oklahoma. Regina had worked for Hopeman equipment and Sharps Department Store in Seminole.  She then worked with her husband Fred Combs in their business, Combs Heating & Air in Seminole for many years.  Regina was a self appointed caregiver attending to the needs of her friends and family.  She enjoyed sewing and most of all caring for her loving family. Survivors include her husband of almost 43 years Fred Combs of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Sarah Combs of Seminole, Oklahoma; one daughter and son-in-law, Valarie and Joerg Burkhard of Seminole, Oklahoma; her mother, Bell (Gap) Marshall Gyongyossy of Wichita, Kansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Donna Marshall of Pawnee, Oklahoma; one sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Jim Buchanan of Escondido, California; dear friend and “Daughter in the Indian way,” Mallissa Parsons of Seminole, Oklahoma; and a host of other family and dear friends. Regina was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law and father-in-law, F.C. & Lois Combs. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Bill Chesser officiating.  Interment will follow at Little Cemetery. Casket bearers will be: Ritchie Birdwell, Jay Smith, Billy Chesser, Johnnie Underwood, Joel Parsons and Mike Findley. Honorary bearers will be: Tim Roberts, Tammy Ellenbecker and Jim Buchanan. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
