Rebecca Lee Odell

Rebecca Lee Odell, age 32 and a life-long resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at her home. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Fr. Adrian Vorderlandwehr, O.S.B. will officiate and burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Brent Akerman, Bryant Akerman, Cody Goodrich, Austin Geyer, Donnie Roberts, and Mike Turnpaugh.  Honorary Pallbearers are Brian McCurdy and Clayton Phillips. Rebecca was born April 29, 1985 in Ada, Oklahoma.  After graduating from Konawa High School, she attended Pontotoc Technology Center and received her LPN, and worked for Sunset Estates in Tecumseh., Oklahoma.  Rebecca was a beautiful person inside and out and will forever be missed.  She loved others more than she loved herself, and she touched many lives. She is survived by her mom and dad, Donna Gayle (Geyer) Akerman and Michael D. “Mickey” Akerman of the home; one brother, Bryant Akerman and wife, Cecelia of Konawa; two sisters, Amanda Abbott and husband, Kody of Little Ax, Oklahoma, and Kristen McCurdy and husband, Brian of Sulphur, Oklahoma; and grandparents, Tim and Edna Odell, and Jean Akerman. She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Lee Odell; grandmother, Carolyn Lee; grandfather, Ted Geyer; great grandparents, Travis and Ruby Sullivan, and two aunts, Debbie Gregg and Kathy Turnpaugh.
